ABOUT INGETEAM
Since its constitution, in 1972, Ingeteam has been applying engineering to investigation, design, manufacture and sale of products and services in fields where a great exchange of energy (both generation and consumption) is necessary, with the aim of modifying the current energy model.
Currently, Ingeteam is composed of about 3,000 people and divided into six divisions: Energy, Industry, Marine, Traction, Basic Technologies and Services.
Energy Division has always been at the forefront of technology developing products and solutions in the renewable energy market directed at promoting and encouraging the replacement of conventional energy with renewable resources.
Nowadays, Ingeteam designs and manufactures Power Converters, Control units, Generators and Pitch regulator systems for wind turbines, as well as Remote and Local Control Centres for wind farms, using its own SCADA system.
Ingeteam’s experience in wind power business is backed by more than 11,000 power converters, over 9,500 generators and about 200 remote control systems (monitoring more than 5,000 wind turbines of different wind turbine manufacturers) installed all over the world.
According to BTM annual reports, during 2006, about 14.1% of the total wind power installed all over the world was equipped with Ingeteam’s converters and about 11,6% with Ingeteam’s generators.
